Helpful For Dog Owners

Good evening everyone!

I am reaching out to you because I want to kindly remind everyone why its important to look after your pets. We must all do our part if we are to have any hope of keeping our public spaces clean and safe for everyone to use.

Therefore, I bring to your attention the following excerpt from the  “Anti Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014” (specifically produced by Hillingdon Council)

Section 5 Clause C:  “ A person commits an offence if, without reasonable excuse, any dog in their charge defecates on land within the ‘restricted area’ and they fail to remove the faeces and deposit it in a dog faeces receptacle, forthwith.”

  • We all enjoy walking in the park, letting our children run about in the grass, enjoying the sunshine and being able to get places. All that can be let down by dog fouling. It is a source of frustration for many but also a health hazard waiting to happen. Those who do not clean up after their pet, are spoiling the experience for themselves and those around them.
  • and also from … “Dangerous Dogs Act 1991”

Section 3 Sub Section 1: “If a dog is dangerously out of control in [any place in England or Wales (whether or not a public place)

    (a)the owner; and

(b)if different, the person for the time being in charge of the dog,

is guilty of an offence, or, if the dog while so out of control injures any person (or assistance dog), an aggravated offence, under this subsection.”

  • We should all have the right to be safe and no one knows our pets better than us. It is your responsibility to make sure you keep your pet under control. Think ahead, and consider potential risks. Be mindful when around other pets, be careful when letting your pets off the leash.
  • Kind regards,
